Hail and Farewell

At the end of the month, Fran Petticord will retire as the parish’s Financial Secretary after 30 years of faithful and diligent service to the parish. She began in the daycare and steadily took on more and more responsibilities. I am grateful for her tireless efforts to assist me and my predecessors in managing the financial, human, and business resources of the parish as good stewards of our generous benefactors.

Please welcome to our staff Charles Longino and Ann Arnold. Charles comes to us by way of Our Lady of Grace in Greensboro where he attends church with his wife and children. He has begun working in the office as the new parish Business Manager. His responsibilities include oversight of the day-to-day operations of the parish, daycare, and immigration office; project planning and management; human resources; and visionary budgeting for our different departments. Ann recently moved to Kernersville to be closer to her family. She has begun training with Fran as our parish Bookkeeper. Ann brings with her over 30 years of bookkeeping experience and is excited to work for a church for the first time in her career.

As you know, the last two years have been tough for each of us personally and in many different ways. I want to take a moment to commend the hard work, dedication, and resilience of everyone who works at Holy Cross in all our departments. Even through the 2020 pandemic, I was able to rely without reservation on their great resolve to continue the mission of the parish. When you interact with Holy Cross employees, please thank them for all they do.
